Eating in Slovakia

Slovakia has been granted a long and rich history due to where it’s situated in Europe.
The fine cuisine of Slovakia has also benefited by the locale. Slovakian food is infused with the culinary secrets of the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. Like these other countries, and from influences from all over Europe, the staple foods of Slovakia include potatoes, cabbage, onion, carrot, mushroom, pepper, sausage, barley, and wheat.
The national dish of Slovakia is Bryndzove Halusky, or potato dumplings smothered in fresh sheep’s cheese and sizzling bacon.
